Why You Don't Give Up
I'm a huge baseball fan, and especially of the New York Yankees. On Friday, the Yankees reminded me of why I don't give up.
If you are familiar with baseball, runs don't come easy, and usually 4 or 5 will win a game. Certainly 6 or 7 would almost guarantee a win. Almost!
The Yankees were losing 9-1 against the Team that was in First Place, The Baltimore Orioles. It was the 6th inning so that meant the Yankees only had 4 innings to catch up against this team that had already scored 9 big runs on them. This is where a lot of teams would just resign to the loss and look forward to the next game.
Jacoby Ellsbury's seventh-inning grand slam brought New York within three runs, chipping away at what had been an eight-run deficit, and Castro told teammate Didi Gregorius that he sensed something special was brewing against long odds in this wild slugfest.
Castro, tied the game with a two-run blast off Brad Brach in a three-run ninth inning.
Matt Holliday's walk-off blast, powered the Yankees' to a wild 14-11, 10-inning victory over the Orioles!
This was a lesson in life! Don't quit!
